Community Swimming Pool At The Cottages

The Cottages: "Customized New England"

The Cottages subdivisions of Shadowridge are located just off of the Shadowridge Golf Course in Vista. BCE Development built these beautiful stucco or wood-siding homes in 1984 (Cottages I) and 1986 (Cottages II). Cottages I was the second single-family subdivision built in Shadowridge.

Cottages I is located just South of Shadowridge Drive in the heart of "old Shadowridge." These cul-de-sac and circular streets back directly onto the golf course. Golf cart paths line many of these quiet streets. The common areas are exceptionally well maintained, as are the immaculately landscaped front yards. The distinctive Cottages sign surrounded by fresh and colorful flowers marks the main entrance off Lupine Hills Road. Leaves on the tree lined streets turn gold and red in the fall, completing the New England feel. Long-time residents are common in this neighborhood, as well as residents of all ages. The common pool and Jacuzzi are decorated with enchanting foliage.

Cottages II is located just north of Shadowridge Drive, west of the older Cottages subdivision. These 74 homes share a pool, spa, and tot lot. This subdivision is very close to the other end of the Shadowridge Golf Course, offering homes overlooking the course as well. These cul-de-sac homes offer privacy, serenity, and quiet streets. This community is hidden from passersby by trees and a long block wall. Amid short winding streets rests the small community of Lido, a community of manicured lawns, cul-de-sacs, and mature trees. Many of the original owners still live in this community. The lots are narrow, but each home has a gated courtyard in front of the house, which makes it feel more spacious and comfortable.

The community pool areas reflect the amount of attention and appreciation, which management and residents have given to their neighborhood. One of the pools even has a solar system. The Parks In Mallorca Are Absolutely Beautiful

Mallorca: On The High Plateau Of Shadowridge

Mallorca, a community of 207 homes built by Barratt in 1989 on private streets, is situated just north of the Lido subdivision. Some of these homes have mountain/hill views, and most are located in cul-de-sac locations, resulting in very social neighborhoods. It is the second largest subdivision in Shadowridge. This is the most recent development in the Shadowridge community. In this community of four very distinct floor plans, homes ranging from around 1,450 to 2,247 square feet, with 2- or 3-car garages are found. A diverse group of people has made their home in the Mallorca subdivision: young couples, families, retirees, and professionals. Neighbors often get together for "block parties" during the holidays; this is a very tight-knit community. Mallorca entices newcomers with a large tropical pool and spa, as well as their own community park.

The Castellon, plan 1, is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom single level home covering approximately 1,431 square feet.

Straight from the builder: "Castellon is designed especially for ease of movement. This is an inviting home, where you and your friends can feel comfortable in every room. Soon after entering through the elegant mahogany front door, the sight of your favorite dish will allure you from the living room into the charming dining room, its setting enhanced by a stylish bay window. Around the corner, the family room is host to after-dinner conversation and games…kept warm and cozy by a wood-burning fireplace. A special feature of the Castellon is an optional retreat off the master bedroom."

The Malaga, plan 2, is a large 3+ bedroom, 2.5 bathroom two-story home spread out over 1,640 square feet. This home has a 2-car garage, as the Castellon (plan 1) does.

Straight from the builder: "Malaga is a well-planned home that affords you privacy and togetherness. Relish the spaciousness and luxurious appointments of your master suite, with its private dressing area, walk-in closet and fireplace. Meanwhile, your guests will enjoy the comfort of having the upstairs bedroom to themselves. In the morning the breakfast nook is a natural gathering spot for catching up on the latest news. The fresh, clean kitchen sports classy European styled cabinets and a peak roof that splashes light throughout.

An added benefit is the bonus room. It gives you great views both inside and out. The deck overlooks Shadowridge while the interior overlook provides a dramatic view of the distinctive columns, archway and plant shelves below.

The Alicante, plan 3, is a 3+ bedroom, 2.5 bathroom two-story home covering 1,998 square feet. This home has the added conveniences of a 3-car garage and an interior laundry room. The living and dining areas are almost completely separated, although still connected. The master suite is upstairs, along with a bonus room-or third bedroom.

Straight from the builder: "Alicante is a departure from the ordinary with an encompassing design. It impresses with a circular flow that begins with either the graceful formality of the living room or the casual charm of the family room. Dramatic cathedral ceilings and custom-styled windows will delight you with the changing colors of the afternoon and evening sky. A two-way fireplace, an elegant archway and unique columns embellish your formal affairs and family gatherings.

The kitchen is the center of attention, where the morning light pours through the solarium window. From there you can serve friends who have gathered in the family room to watch the big game and enjoy the warmth of an afternoon fire.

Upstairs the master suite is a world unto itself. It's big enough for a rolltop desk . . . all the better to finish work at home . . . Full of promise, the Alicante is a home of substance and lasting cheer."

The Seville, plan 4, is a large 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home with a 3-car garage. This home covers almost 2,250 square feet, and includes a master retreat option as well as a large laundry room.

Straight from the builder: The Seville "is very sophisticated, wide open and versatile enough to please the most eclectic of tastes. While the children are watching movies in the family room you can be passing hors d'oeuvres and engaging in lively conversation with friends in the gracious and expansive living room."

The master suite's luxurious atmosphere will set you free to relax in front of the fireplace, in the large jet-stream oval tub with a view, in the attached royal retreat, or sunbathe on the deck. The other two bedrooms (or three without the use of the master retreat) are spacious and located at the front of the house, far enough away from the master retreat for privacy. From upstairs, you can view the elegantly built living room below from the staircase bridge.
